Methods: cross-sectional study conducted on a sample of 623 migrants during the months of April to June 2021, based on the Anxiety and Fear of COVID-19 (AMICO) assessment scale, the 9-item Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES), and the General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-12). Results: The results showed a mean work engagement score of 5.38 points (SD=1.38), a mean AMICO scale score of 6.54 points (SD=5.4), and a mean GHQ score of 14.12 points (SD=4.8). People living in informal settlements intrinsically present a number of difficulties and vulnerabilities, and others of these are a result of COVID-19. Conclusions: Variables such as a low level of education, the desire to return to the country of origin, and poor housing of less than 3m2 may favour the presence of anxiety and fear of COVID-19, lower levels of work engagement, and increase possibilities of developing psychological distress.
