The One Health approach emphasizes the interdependence of human, animal, and environmental health. As global health threats, such as zoonotic diseases, antimicrobial resistance, and climate change intensify, robust metrics are essential to operationalize and evaluate One Health interventions. Yet, standardized indicators that capture the complex, transdisciplinary nature of One Health remain limited.

This special issue invites contributions that advance the development, validation, and application of One Health metrics. We welcome high-quality Reviews, Original Articles, and Theory and Concept papers that foster a shared methodological foundation to better inform One Health policy, investment and governance. We especially encourage submissions that:

• Propose or critique indicators, indexes or scorecards in diverse contexts, including Global South and Indigenous settings
• Apply systems thinking or modelling approaches to evaluate One Health outcomes
• Address the challenges of data integration and comparability across disciplines
• Examine how the impact of One Health programs can be quantitatively assessed
• Explore how metrics reinforce existing power asymmetries between Global North institutions (who typically develop frameworks) and Global South contexts
• Explore how equity, sustainability, and health systems resilience can be integrated into One Health monitoring
• Document the brakes and levers of implementing One Health frameworks as well as the dynamics of change once implemented
• Examine the effect of the drive for measurability risk on One Health's more radical potential to challenge disciplinary boundaries and anthropocentric thinking
